Girls (+baby bump) Night Out!
I can remember being about 5 months pregnant with my first baby and feeling like my social life had completely fizzled. Friends Facebook status’s listed all the fabulous nights out on the town they were having, but I was at home questioning was it appropriate for me go out to pregnant?! I spent my first Trimester either crying (hormones) or throwing up (nausea), so I was happy to be in the 2nd Trimester of energetic baby bliss. But now that my pregnant belly had popped, there was no questioning I was a pregnant gal. Could I still join my friends at the bar, the nightclub, the yummy mexican restaurant I spent my sunday afternoons at while sipping margaritas on the sunny patio?! haha! I knew I had to pass on the cheese dip and alcoholic beverages, but would I get stared at for being the pregnant girl in a bar? My personal choice was that as long as I was not holding an adult drink and there was no smoking allowed, I felt comfortable just about anywhere I had been before, less the after-hour dance parties of course. I put aside all my fears that people would think I had just gained a lot of weight, wore curve hugging clothes that flaunted my bump, and enjoyed this most precious time in my life without compromising my social life. I watched my hubby Will spin records during the opening set for DJ Kimball Collins, cheered USA during the World Cup at the Irish pub, sipped water after sitting front row at the Jeffrey Fashion Care’s charity fashion show, drank mock’tinis on the rooftop of the W Hotel and danced the night away at my dearest friend’s wedding reception. Recently, I ran into my lovely friend Tonya (wearing a BLANQI under her dress!) at our husband’s work Christmas party and was so happy she had the confidence to come out and enjoy herself, even 3 weeks from her due date! So slip on a Blanqi Body Styler and enjoy a girl..or boy..night out!
